Ahmed has exploded on X since Hamas attacked Israel in 2023, trafficking in anti-Israel and anti-Jewish conspiracies

Sulaiman Ahmed is a virulent anti-Israel online disinformation campaigner who has made common cause with antisemitic pro-Hamas extremists on the far right and far left since October 7, 2023.

The British influencer, who describes himself as an investigative journalist and political commentator, has massively expanded his social media following the Hamas attacks in Israel, and during the Gaza war. He now has more than 612,000 followers on X and remains active across platforms including YouTube, where he hosts a regular program he claims is “neither left not right”, and on networks like Twitch, Telegram and Rumble.

In June 2024, the radical anti-Zionist Ahmed joined a cast of high-profile Jew-hating conspiracy theorists from across the political spectrum at a gathering in Detroit. The group were protesting their exclusion from a conservative movement conference, after their original America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC) was canceled by the host venue just before it was supposed to take place. The notorious antisemites at the meeting included veteran conspiracist Lucas Gage, ex-Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight and Great Replacement Theory promoter Jake Shields, social media creator Nicolas “Sneako” Kenn De Balinthazy, and Holocaust Deniers including the former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke and white nationalist Nick Fuentes.

The pow-wow prompted the specialist on antisemitism, Fellow at the Tel Aviv Institute Hen Mazzig to comment: “The biggest accounts “for Palestine” on X: Jake Shields, Suleiman Ahmed, and Lucas Gage met at an event that was due to be attended by the grand wizard of the KKK. But tell me more about how anti-Zionism has absolutely nothing to do with antisemitism.”

Earlier examples of Ahmed’s trafficking in conspiracies about Israel and Jews include his appearances on American alt-right podcaster Stew Peters’ show on October 26, 2023, and January 12, 2024. Peters, the producer of anti-Covid vaccine films, claimed in November 2023 that Israel slaughtered its own people on October 7.

Ahmed also did several interviews with American conspiracy monger and former Infowars editor Patrick Henningsen on 21st Century Wire (July 12, September 24, and October 15, 2023). He joined the former British MP and friend of dictators and antisemites George Galloway’s program on October 24, 2023.

Key Incidents and Claims made by Ahmed

  • Saint Porphyrios Church Allegation (October 2023): Three days after Hamas' attack on Israeli civilians, Ahmed falsely claimed that the Saint Porphyrios Orthodox Church in Gaza had been destroyed by Israeli airstrikes. This was promptly refuted by the church itself on Facebook.
  • Al-Ahli Hospital Explosion: Ahmed alleged that updates made by The New York Times on the Gaza hospital explosion were proof of “Zionist control” over the media, a claim widely criticized. His post, viewed over 1.5 million times, echoed broader conspiracy theories.
  • Yemen and the Israel Conflict (October 31, 2023): Based on a statement from the Houthi rebels, Ahmed inaccurately claimed that Yemen was the first nation to declare war on Israel during the conflict. The Houthis, however, are an Iran-aligned rebel group and do not represent Yemen’s official government.
  • Organ Harvesting Allegations (November 2023): Ahmed repeatedly shared content accusing Israel of killing Palestinians to harvest their organs, a charge lacking credible evidence.
  • ISIS Leader Claim (January 17, 2024): He revived a long-debunked conspiracy theory, stating that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (1971–2019) was an Israeli Mossad agent named “Simon Elliot.”

Surfing Diverse Waves of Disinformation

Ahmed’s narratives often align with well-known conspiracy theories, drawing criticism for amplifying disinformation and fostering divisive rhetoric in an already tense global climate.

The influencer has taken to defending Andrew Tate the self-described misogynist and far right activist charged with multiple cases of rape of underaged girls and with human trafficking in Romania and Great Britain, in multiple posts on X. Tate played an important role in spreading fake news that a Muslim immigrant had stabbed three girls to death in Southport, United Kingdom in July 2024, lies that helped spark race riots with the help of Ahmed’s other ally, English Defence League founder Tommy Robinson.

Despite Tate’s anti-Muslim rhetoric - he says it is “dangerous to be white” and recently compared Palestinians to the racist mobs of UK rioters - Ahmed has ferociously defended him and claimed he and his brother Tristan are victims of a conspiracy.

Ever the opportunist, Ahmed has also seized upon and appeared to approve of the engagement of British far right Brexiteer politician Nigel Farage, who is close to Donald Trump and has strong ties to the Kremlin, at the London farmers’ protests of November 19 2024.
